Arrastion danori. In today’s class we will see the first dance, within the CARNIVAL or INAUTERI genre. Already they begin to appear in our course of Txikito, dances of the different modalities, celebrations and ritual festive moments of our folklore and of our festive calendar. The villages of Gipuzkoa, which are next to each other, Abaltzisketa and Amézqueta, on Sunday and Tuesday of Carnival, they have this “makil dantza”, or dance of sticks, which is known by the name of Txantxo Dantza, or also Talai dantza.

. It is a dance that is linked to something that is very common in the Basque Country, the request, that consist of going farmhouse by farmhouse, baserri by baserri, offering a song, a dance, as it is done in Santa Agueda, christmas and others; and the habitants of our neighbors and baserris, and farmhouses, give us, some food, or a gift, which will be used later for the usual fraternity dinners and lunches.
